Dr. Byung (Josh) Kim is a board-licensed optometrist with more than a decade of experience providing comprehensive eye care and managing a wide range of ocular conditions. His clinical interests include primary eye care, glaucoma, retinal disease, anterior segment conditions, and the ocular manifestations of systemic disease.
Dr. Kim earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry and completed a residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at The Eye Institute at Salus University. He has served as a Primary Care Optometrist at The Eye Institute since 2014, where he provides patient care in a high-volume academic setting and participates in the clinical education of optometry students and staff.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), Dr. Kim has presented nationally on topics involving retinal disease, advanced ocular imaging, and ocular disease. His work has also been published in Modern Optometry, and he has participated as an investigator in clinical research.
In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr. Kim is committed to giving back to the community. He has participated in Special Olympics vision screenings since 2015 and has volunteered with organizations including Remote Area Medical, VSP Mobile Eye Exams, Giving Kids Sight Day, and Community Volunteers in Medicine.
Dr. Kim is dedicated to providing thorough, personalized eye care while helping patients understand and maintain their vision and overall eye health.
